Selena joined Taalcentrum-VU in January 2022 as our translation and revision intern for English and Dutch. A graduate of the Japanese Studies programme at Leiden University, she is currently completing a Master’s in Translation. Her love of Japan means that she has continued to translate Japanese texts alongside her Master’s studies. Meanwhile, her strong connections with Latin America mean her taste for sushi is rivalled only by her love of empanadas.
When it comes to work, Selena pulls out all the stops to make sure everything is perfect, down to the last detail. A whole bunch of hobbies keep her busy in her spare time: from cooking and baking to gaming and drawing … and of course there’s a world of new languages out there just waiting to be explored.
