Taalcentrum-VU Freelancers’ Day 2022.
After two years of online courses and video calls, we were finally able to meet face to face again: on 1 April, we hosted a fun and inspiring afternoon for our freelance instructors. It was great to exchange ideas and catch up with everyone in person. The icing on the cake: our CEDEO customer satisfaction score for this year is 98% – our highest score ever! We’re very proud of all our instructors.
Successful switch to online courses
At the start of the pandemic, we were forced to move all our courses online from one moment to the next. Janneke Hopster, head of Taalcentrum-VU’s Training Department, reflected on this big change, which proved to be a success. Over a short period of time, we switched to online meetings and adapted our exercise materials and work formats. Meanwhile, our instructors learned all the ins and outs of teaching successful online workshops and training sessions. And with a higher-than-ever CEDEO score, it’s clear that our customers didn’t mind the online and hybrid courses.
Janneke Hopster: ‘The online courses have proved to be a success, which is why we will continue to offer them. But now they’re optional – they’re a great alternative for people who don’t want to travel long distances for a short training session.’
Exchanging experiences
Still, people were clearly happy to see each other in real life again on Taalcentrum-VU’s Freelancers’ Day, and our freelancers were able to exchange experiences with the Taalcentrum-VU training team just like before the pandemic. Head of department Janneke, coordinators Marja and Sam, developers Eric, Sue and Nancy and e-learning manager Bodine were all in attendance. Guest speaker Colleen Geske of StuffDutchPeopleLike gave a fun presentation about the peculiarities of Dutch culture from her perspective as a Canadian. We finished the day with drinks, toasting to our cooperation and all the training courses, workshops, refreshers, master classes and turbo lectures still to come
