Even if you have a good command of English, it can still be quite challenging to lead a seminar in a language that is not your own. Especially if you are teaching alongside your research, for example, and do not yet have a wealth of teaching experience to draw on. On completing this course, you will have the confidence to get started on your English-language seminars and the right tools to handle a wide range of teaching situations.
You will also learn a large number of stock phrases that will help you lead your seminar in English that is both correct and varied. Where relevant, we will deal with grammatical issues such as different ways to ask questions, and work on expanding your active vocabulary and equipping you with idiomatic expressions. We will also cover aspects of politeness and ways to express nuances in English.
